The main components discussed will be parenting emotion coaching and developmentally appropriate expectations.

Please join Dr. Jenna Armstrong for this parenting discussion.

Jenna Montgomery Armstrong, Ph.D., is a post-doctoral fellow at Silber Psychological Services who works with children and families. She completed her Ph.D. at North Carolina State University in School Psychology and completed an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited clinical internship at The University of North Carolina. She relies on the latest research and evidence-based treatments and assessments in the therapy and testing she offers.

Dr. Montgomery Armstrong has experience providing therapy to children of all ages in schools, outpatient, and inpatient settings across the Triangle. She primarily utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy and highly values authenticity—often using it as a tool in treatment. She has specialized expertise in working with young children who struggle with behavior problems and anxiety in addition to children who have experienced trauma and/or adoption. She believes parents are the experts on their child and works closely with them throughout treatment to support generalization of skills learned during therapy. She is an accredited Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) provider.

Dr. Montgomery Armstrong has ample experience conducting psychoeducational and psychological assessments to identify the unique strengths and needs of each family and make school and home-based recommendations to support their success. She enjoys coaching parents to be their child’s best advocate in schools. She has specialized training in conducting ADHD, Autism, trauma, learning disability, and post-adoption assessments. She believes thorough assessment can also be a therapeutic intervention tool for families.
