The television station WRAL is partnering  with NCPA and National Association of Social Workers-North Carolina Chapter to host their inaugural MENTAL HEALTH PROS ON-CALL event on THURSDAY, 4/21/22, from 4:00-8:00 P.M.

The week of this event, WRAL will be promoting mental health awareness and resources on air. On THURSDAY, 4/21/22, viewers will be able to call the WRAL station and will be transferred on a secure phone line to speak to and Licensed Psychologists and Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Through this event, we hope to reduce the stigma associated with accessing mental health care, offer encouragement, provide direction on seeking services and promote the behavioral health professions.

This will be done virtually, from the comfort of your home or office. WRAL has a phone system which will be utilized as to not show your personal phone number.

We need Licensed Psychologists to answer the mental health calls!

 Please note:

  1. You may sign up to serve a shift from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. or from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  2. To minimize liability, calls will not be recorded; providers will remain anonymous; and providers will not self-refer.
  3. Calls will last 10-15 minutes.
  4. Please offer support, validation of concerns where you can, and encouragement to contact a provider.
  5. For all providers who agree to volunteer, we will outline detailed instructions about the on-call process.
