Ask the Psychologist with Dr. Emily W. King: Supporting Neurodivergent Kids at School and Beyond

Neurodivergence most often includes diagnoses of autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, giftedness, or twice-exceptionality. Growing up as a neurodivergent learner within the standardized structure of transitional schooling can be difficult. As a child psychologist, and former school psychologist, I will walk you through the challenges these children face and how parents, educators, and therapists can best support these unique kids growing up in a world that wasn’t built for them.
