About
About me: I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and conduct psychotherapy in my private practice, www.jpvcontextualconsulting.com. Prior to opening my private practice, I was faculty at Duke University, served as a psychologist and trainer in the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System in Seattle, WA, and I completed my degree with the founder of ACT, Steven C. Hayes, PhD.
I work with adults and older adults, and I have expertise in anxiety and trauma, burnout, parenting and life transition stress, identity issues, aging, chronic and terminal illness, grief and loss, and wellness. I am an LGBTQ+ and gender-affirming provider who cares deeply for social justice issues.
I also am a Peer Reviewed trainer in the international ACT scholarly community, the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science. I continue to support scholarly endeavors and provide consultation for therapy training and intervention development and implementation.
