Committees are an integral part of the work of NCPF. Each committee is made up of volunteers who have an interest and passion to assist NCPF by enhancing and improving the field of psychology.

All of our committees typically meet virtually. Thus, no matter where you are located in NC, you can join and be a part.

Please contact us and let us know if you have an interest in any of the below committees. We will let you speak with the committee chair, staff, and even "visit" one of the meetings to see if it is a good fit for you.

  • Public Education

Creates, develops, organizes, and implements various ways of educating the public about psychology, mental illness, and mental health as well as supports other organizations in NC that serve the public in terms of mental health resources and research.

  • NC Disaster Behavioral Health Committee

The mission of the NC Disaster Behavioral Health Committee is to improve the quality of mental health services in disaster response in North Carolina. The committee promotes best practices in disaster behavioral health by North Carolina professionals and organizations through information sharing, training, education, coordination, and advocacy. The NCDBHC supports and facilitates professionals volunteering to serve with disaster response organizations such as the American Red Cross.  The committee may include representatives of associations of licensed mental health and substance abuse professionals, as well as the American Red Cross, the NC Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Use Services, NC Emergency Management and other stakeholders in disaster behavioral health services.  The NCDBHC is sponsored by the North Carolina Psychological Foundation.

  • Scientific, Academic, and Student Affairs (SASA)

Developing, establishing, and maintaining relationships with undergraduate and graduate psychology departments across the state.
